Skill Points

Do you like to customize your character, making tough and meaningful choices every level-up, and immediately feeling the impact? Then you're in the right place! With each level you get four points to allocate into Vitality, Energy, Strength and Dexterity - replacing the legacy system of receiving static gains each level. For balancing purposes, there are restrictions put in place (more information below), while still leaving enough flexibility to push your character toward a chosen playstyle - especially in the early game. Feel free to experiment with this system in Rookgaard - as your points will be refunded once you've reached the mainland.

Allocated points and their effect can be viewed in the Stats panel.

Equipment Panel Stats Panel
Stats
Vitality X Health + (1 hp reg per 8 sec each 10th point)
Energy X Mana + (1 mp reg per 12 sec each 10th point)
Strength X Capacity + (1% critical hit [rp/ek] or 2% mana from fluids [ms/ed] for each 10th point)
Dexterity X Speed + (1% double hit [rp/ek] or 1% spell cost reduction [ms/ed] each 10th point)

Different vocations gain varying benefits from each skill point. The values in parentheses shows how they compare to the legacy system:

Vocation Health Mana Capacity Speed
Knight 9 (= 0.6 * lvl) 3 (= 0.6 * lvl) 20 (= 0.8 * lvl) 1.5 (= 0.75 * lvl)
Paladin 6 (= 0.6 * lvl) 9 (= 0.6 * lvl) 16 (= 0.8 * lvl) 1.5 (= 0.75 * lvl)
Sorcerer 3 (= 0.6 * lvl) 18 (= 0.6 * lvll) 8 (= 0.8 * lvl) 1.5 (= 0.75 * lvll)
Druid 4 (= 0.8 * lvl) 14 (= 0.47 * lvl) 8 (= 0.8 * lvl) 1.5 (= 0.75 * lvl)

So, how is this balanced? Well, you cannot put all points into one stat. Until level 10 you can put max 15 points into one stat, and limit increases by 15 each 10th level. Even though this means you can only on average put 1.5 points into one stat per level (37.5% of your total points), there are some stages where you can have a lot more. For instance, you can have 30 out of your 36 points in Dexterity at level 10, and walk as if you were level 23 (and have +3% double hit).

All allocated skill points are refunded once reaching the main land, and can also be refunded at Daniel Steelsoul in Edron (say 'refund') for 500 gp's per point. Each time a point is refunded, the price increases by a 100 gp's - so allocate your points wisely!
